The results for the election of the Executive Board of IIBA South Africa for the 2025/2026 term are now in, and we are thrilled to share them with our members.

This year, we had three posts up for election, a reduction from the usual four, following the resignation of a board member in 2024. In line with our election procedure, the vacant post was filled by the nominee who received the next highest number of votes from the 2024/2025 election, starting their term late.

As we embarked on this exciting journey of running the election process for three seats on the IIBA South African Executive Board, we are grateful to our dedicated election committee, who meticulously managed the process:

  • Lerato Mashigo
  • Mpho Shokane
  • Auxilia Maomela

This year, a total of 23 nominations were received, with 12 deemed invalid. Of the valid nominations, 9 were male and 14 were female. We received 128 votes in total, though 63 votes were invalid due to incorrect membership numbers. A total of 65 valid votes were cast.

After careful counting, we are pleased to announce the winners:

  • Chrisanne Kirstein and Mohammed Bray secured the first two positions, and will join the Executive Board for the upcoming term.
  • For the third and final seat, we had a tie between two candidates, which led to a runoff. After the runoff, Ouma Bodila emerged victorious and will complete the trio of elected members for the 2025/2026 term.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all the nominees for their participation, as well as to the election committee for their hard work and dedication.

The three winners will serve as board designates until their positions are officially ratified at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) on February 20th, 2025.

Please join us in congratulating Chrisanne, Mohammed, and Ouma on their election, and we look forward to their contributions in the coming term.
