IIBA® SOUTH AFRICA (IIBA®-SA) announces its new BOARD members for 2019

The South African Chapter of International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA®) held its Annual General Meeting on Thursday, 29 November 2018 and four new board members, Oluwakorede Asuni, Melissa Botha, Trevor Joubert and Deidré Forbay were welcomed onto the Board of Directors. 

Lucy Davies, a Senior Business Analysis Specialist at Nedbank, will remain on the Board as President while Edward Ngubane, Head of Business Analysis at DVT, has been appointed as Treasurer, evacuating his previous position as Secretary.  

Oluwakorede, a Senior Business Analyst at MTN, will replace Edward Ngubane as Secretary.  Olu has been a Business Analyst for nearly 6 years in various industries (non-profits, public service, energy and commodities, financial services and telecoms).  He holds a Bachelor’s Degree (hons) in Physics and several certifications including the prestigious IIBA CBAP Certification and is currently completing an Executive MBA in General Management from Henley School of Business. “I am excited by the opportunity to serve but I am equally cognisant of the demand for excellence that comes bundled with this opportunity.” says Olu of his appointment to the Board.

Melissa will be heading up the Professional Development and Technology portfolios.  She is a Senior Business Analyst with 12 years of experience in the field. Her areas of expertise are in financial services, investment portfolios and telecommunications. She specialises in financial crimes compliance and holds a MSc. Information Systems Management degree from the University of Liverpool. She is excited to be selected as an IIBA board member as this will enable her to drive ideas, offer support and contribute to the development of the Business Analysis community.

Trevor, a previous member of the Board, will manage all operational aspects of IIBA locally.  Trevor is a Senior Business Analyst in the ICTS department at the University of Cape Town where he has worked since August 1990.

The Communications, Marketing and Branding portfolio will be headed up by Deidré Forbay who is a Projects Delivery Manager at DVT.  Deidré has a BA Communications Sciences Degree and a Diploma in Business Analysis and has spent the last 10 years as Business Analyst in various fields such as Central Banking, Telecommunications, Vehicle Tracking and Insurance.  She was also a mentor of the inaugurational IIBA SA Mentorship Programme as well as a volunteer of the South African Chapter.

The President expressed her appreciation to the outgoing board members Chardi Taylor, Giovanni Focaraccio and François Combrinck, for their service and commitment to the Business Analysis community over the past two years.    

The Board will have their strategic planning session on 26 January 2019 to determine a strategic roadmap that will guide the Board as it strives to continue serving the Business Analysis community and driving the vision and mission of IIBA locally in South Africa.
